Public Safety Communications Supervisor

The PSCC Supervisor directs the activities and functions of an assigned shift of Emergency Dispatchers; coordinates, prioritizes and assigns tasks and projects; tracks and reviews work progress and processes; evaluates work performance and implements appropriate training and disciplinary actions when necessary.
The PSCC Supervisor trains employees on equipment, procedures and systems; oversees communications systems and applications to identify operational problems and issues; reports malfunctions and conducts follow-up to ensure corrections are made.
The PSCC Supervisor monitors quality control and assurance over telephonic and radio recordings; maintains an orderly and productive work environment; ensures effective communication between team members while maintaining a professional work environment.
The PSCC Supervisor may be tasked with administrative functions such as training, maintenance of electronic security systems, scheduling and accreditation related activities.
Must obtain Terminal Operator Certification Level A within six (6) months of hire. Based upon the needs of the agency, incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain additional licenses or technical certifications. Working nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
Must be able to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
Must successfully pass all pre-employment screenings including a comprehensive background investigation, drug test, polygraph, medical and psychological exams.
High school diploma or GED equivalent and four (4) years of public safety communications dispatch experience, including one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience is required.
