Programa de apoyo a agencias de CALEA (CASP)

El propósito del Programa de apoyo a agencias de CALEA (CASP) es apoyar el desarrollo profesional de organismos de orden público, centros de comunicación de seguridad pública, academia de capacitación en materia de seguridad pública y organizaciones de seguridad en campus que no cuentan con financiación suficiente al ofrecerles apoyo a organismos calificados que buscan su acreditación por primera vez.

Este programa va a ofrecer exenciones a los aranceles aplicados por CALEA para que los organismos participen en los programas de acreditación establecidos. Al hacerlo, el programa comparte la misión general de CALEA al ofrecer un programa de certificación sistemático, objetivo e imparcial mediante el cual los organismos de seguridad pública calificados podrán ser evaluados en función de las mejores prácticas para la respectiva profesión.

En virtud de este programa, los organismos elegibles seleccionados recibirán exenciones, denominadas Exenciones de aranceles de la acreditación inicial (IAFW), que van a cubrir todos los aranceles administrativos iniciales de CALEA, que de otra manera serían abonados por el organismo postulante. El organismo postulante sigue siendo responsable de seleccionar y adquirir el software de acreditación necesario.

Estructura arancelaria

Los organismos a quienes se les otorguen las IAFW deberán pagar la mitad de los aranceles de la evaluación inicial estimados al momento de la inscripción inicial. Este monto no se reembolsará. Asimismo, los organismos deben pagar el costo de suscripción para el software de gestión de acreditación de terceros inclusivo de las publicaciones electrónicas de CALEA al momento de la inscripción:

$1350 para Comunicaciones, Academia de capacitación y Seguridad en campus (suscripción por 2 años)
$1800 para Orden público (suscripción por 3 años)

La otra mitad se deberá pagar antes de programar la logística de cualquier actividad de evaluación. Este monto tampoco se reembolsará.

Elegibilidad

Estas exenciones se orientan principalmente a organismos con no más de 50 empleados de tiempo completo o equivalentes de tiempo completo al momento de la solicitud, pero se tendrán en cuenta los organismos con más de 50 empleados de tiempo completo.

Las solicitudes de los organismos se deben enviar entre el 1.° de septiembre y el 31 de diciembre del año actual. Los destinatarios de IAFW serán anunciados en la Conferencia de primavera de CALEA del año siguiente.

Legal Authorization

Please provide a description and/or documentation of the agency’s legal authorization to function as a public safety / law enforcement agency and the authority for sworn personnel to effect full custodial arrest. This may include state statute, local ordinance, etc.

Agency Personnel: Provide numerical data for categories given. Only include the number of authorized full-time sworn and non-sworn positions (i.e. those included in your agency budget) assigned to the law enforcement function.
