Reginald Newell
Reginald Newell joined the CALEA staff in February 2000, taking a new position designed to support many of CALEA’s research activities.
Reggie spent 38 years with the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (AFL-CIO) as Director of Research. In this capacity, he had responsibility for all research and planning activities of this major labor union. This included providing background for and participating in major collective bargaining negotiations, as well as preparing background papers and testimony on key legislative issues for presentation to various congressional committees.
After retiring in 1996, Reggie began working for the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) as Manager of Labor and Other Member Segments. In this capacity he represented employee assistance professionals, including many such professionals working for federal, state and local law enforcement agencies and designed the association’s first client needs assessment survey. He has a bachelor and a master’s degree, and has completed additional post-graduate work.
