Karen Shepard
Karen B. Shepard joined CALEA in January 1997 as a Program Manager. She was previously employed in law enforcement for over twenty years as a non-sworn employee and was an accreditation manager for five years. Karen currently lives and works from her home state of Maine in her newest assignment as CALEA Assessment Manager where she coordinates all agency assessments.
Karen was a member of the task force review of the 4th and 5th editions of the Standards for Law Enforcement Agencies manual and was the staff liaison to ad-hoc committees reviewing the 2nd edition Recognition standards and the assessment report process, as well as numerous assignments reviewing standards.
Karen is the staff liaison to the Standards Review and Interpretation Committee (SRIC), the Canadian Police Accreditation Coalition (CANPAC), and the Public Safety Communications Accreditation Support Network (PSCASN).
