CALEA Agency Support Fund (CASF)

The CASF Grant was created at the 2003 CALEA Summer Conference for the purpose of awarding financial assistance to smaller law enforcement, public safety communications, and public safety training agencies seeking initial accreditation, which would not otherwise be able to do so.   

Under this grant program, selected eligible agencies receive a waiver of the administrative portion of their initial accreditation fees. The grants are primarily directed at agencies with 50 or fewer full-time employees at the time of application. CALEA accepts applications for the CASF Grant between September 1^st and December 31^st of each year, and the selection is conducted at the following spring conference.  Click HERE to download the CASF Information Brochure.

§    Northern Illinois University Department of Public Safety, led by Chief Donald Grady II, PhD, and

§    Sheridan (WY) Police Department, led by Chief Mike Card.

2006 CALEA Agency Support Fund (CASF) Recipients:

§    Round Lake Beach (IL) Police Department, led by Chief Douglas E. Larsson, and

§    Strafford County (NH) Sheriff's Office Dispatch Center, led by High Sheriff Wayne M. Estes.

2005 CALEA Agency Support Fund (CASF) Recipients:

§    Roanoke City (VA) E9-1-1 Center, led by Superintendent Michael Crockett,

§    Munster (IN) Police Department, led by Chief Nick Panich, and

§    University Park (MD) Police Department, led by Chief Michael Wynnyk.

2004 CALEA Agency Support Fund (CASF) Recipients:

§    Pismo Beach (CA) Police Department, under Chief Joseph Cortez, with 34 employees, and

§    Millsboro (DE) Police Department, under Chief John K. Murphy, with 12 employees.
