05/16/2013 CALEA® Announces Selection of Executive Director

After an international search, CALEA® is pleased to announce W. Craig Hartley, Jr. has been selected as its Executive Director, following the retirement of Sylvester Daughtry, Jr. in December 2013.  Craig will work with the current Executive Director over the next several months to ensure a seamless transition for staff, client agencies, stakeholders and the Commission.  Read more.

CALEA has entered into an agreement with IDS for the delivery of electronic standards manual publications for all programs.  It is anticipated this application will be ready for release in late July 2011. 08/31/2010 Standards for Campus Law Enforcement Agencies and Standards for Campus Security Agencies

The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies established an ad hoc committee to develop a program to address non-sworn public safety/security organizations serving educational institutions. The committee, composed of chief executive officers from colleges and universities, private security representatives, CALEA staff, and others, began work on these projects in early 2010.
