Sanford, Fla., interim chief knows community policing

City officials in Sanford, Fla., are hoping that their new interim police chief will be able to accomplish for them what he did when he headed the Plymouth Police Department in Michigan. Richard Myers, 57, began work Friday as head of the central Florida police department that has been the focus of national attention and controversy for how it handled the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin on Feb. 26.
