CEO Changes

CALEA received the following CEO changes for client agencies:



MAY 2012
Roy Wright
is the new chief of police for the Richmond Heights (MO) Police Department . The department has been law enforcement accredited since December 2008.

Douglass Miller has been named interim chief of the California State University, San Marcos Police Department. The department is in law enforcement self-assessment. 

Director Leroy Smith took over as the CEO of the South Carolina Department of Public Safety as of November 15, 2011. The department has been law enforcement accredited since August 1998. 

Timothy R. Bellamy is the new chief of police for the North Carolina Central University Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 2010. 

Christopher Marsala is the new chief of police for the Manalapan Township (NJ) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 2010. 

William Anderson has been named chief of the Asheville (NC) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since November 1994.

APRIL 2012
Tony Pustizzi is the new chief of police for the Coral Springs (FL) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since November 1988.

Deputy Police Chief Lewis Morris has been named interim chief of the Huntsville (AL) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 1996.

Daniel Garcia is the new chief of police for the Phoenix (AZ) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since November 1986.

Jeff Hughes is the new chief of police for the Brentwood (TN) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since November 1989.

March 2012

Floyd Simpson is the new chief of police for the Corpus Christi (TX) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since November 2009.

Roy Wright has been named interim chief of the Richmond Heights (MO) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since December 2008.

Kevin Shoppas was named Director of Public Safety of the Burlington Township (NJ) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 2000.


February 2012
Jeff Mitchell is the new chief of police for the Lebanon (OH) Division of Police. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 1986.

William J. Anderson is the new chief of police for the Asheville (NC) Police Department. This agency has been law enforcement accredited since November 1994.

Steve Johnson has been named interim chief for the Hermosa Beach (CA) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since November 2010.

Billy Bolin has been named the new chief of police for Evansville (IN) Police Department. The Evansville Police have been law enforcement accredited since November 1994.

Art Pierce has been named to the newly created position of Superintendent of Nation Police and Joseph Smith has been promoted to Chief of the Oneida Nation (NY) Police Department. This agency has been law enforcement accredited since 1998.

Michael W. Reaves is the new chief of police for Port Huron (MI) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 1995.

Maggie A. DeBoard has been named chief of police of the Herndon (VA) Police Department. The Herndon Police have been law enforcement accredited since November 1986.

Lieutenant Scott Scrimizzi was appointed acting chief of the Hamilton (OH) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 1990.

David Dowling is the new chief of police at the Schererville (IN) Police Department. This agency has been law enforcement accredited since July 2011.

Mark Swartz is the new chief of police for the Beech Grove (IN) Police Department. The department is in law enforcement self-assessment.

David VanArsdale has been named chief of police of the Middletown (OH) Police Department. The department has been law enforcement accredited since March 2005.

Greg Vesta is the new chief of police for the Wood Dale (IL) Police Department. This department has been law enforcement accredited since July 2001 and communications accredited since November 2003.

January 2012

Steve Stahl has been named Interim Chief of the City of Maricopa (AZ) Police Department. This agency is in law enforcement self-assessment.

Colonel W. Scott McLaren is the new CEO of the New Castle County (DE) Division of Police, an accredited agency since November 1988.

John Fitzgerald has been appointed Chief of Police at Chevy Chase Village (MD) Police Department, an accredited agency since August 1998.

William Halliburton is the new Chief of Police of the Albemarle (NC) Police Department, which has been law enforcement accredited since July 1995.

The new CEO of the New York City Police Department Training Bureau is Deputy Commissioner Dr. James O'Keefe. It has been Public Safety Training Academy accredited since November 2006.

Interim CEO for Delaware County (OH) Emergency Communications is Barbara Temple. This agency is in Public Safety Communications self-assessment.
