FOUR COMMISSIONERS LEAVE CALEA BOARD
The Colorado Springs Conference was the last as a CALEA Commissioner for Peggy Bilsten, Bill Miller, Tim Moore, and Pat Sullivan. Collectively, Commissioners Miller, Moore, and Sullivan have contributed 23 years of dedicated service as a CALEA Commissioner. We gratefully extend our sincere thanks to these individuals for their contributions and wish continued success to all.
Peggy Bilsten, Councilwoman for the City of Phoenix, was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Commissioner Jack Bishop in September 2002. Peggy served on the Corporate Affairs Committee and on Review Committee “A”.
James T. (Tim) Moore, retired Commissioner of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and currently a consultant, has been a CALEA Commissioner since January 1999. Tim most recently served on the Executive Board as Vice President, as Chair of the Outreach Committee, a member of the Investment Committee, and as Chair of Review Committee “B”.
William (Bill) D. Miller, Chief of the Elgin (IL) Police Department, was appointed to the Commission effective January 1992. He has served on the Executive Board as President or Past President for the last five years, was the Chair of the 1997 Standards Review Task Force, and most recently was a member of Review Committee “C”. Bill continues to serve CALEA as the Co-chair of the 2003-2004 SRIC Focus Group.
Patrick J. Sullivan, Jr., Director of Safety and Security for the Cherry Creek (CO) School District and former Sheriff of Arapahoe County (CO), has served on the Commission since October 1993. Besides being the Chair of the SRIC, he worked on both the 3rd and 4th Edition Standards Task Forces, and was a member of Review Committee “A”.
