Top Assessor- Chief Wayne McCoy


A law enforcement officer since 1974, Wayne McCoy was the Chief of Police for the City of Worthington, Ohio for ten years. Since May of 2002, Wayne has been the Chief of Police for the City of Blue Springs, Missouri. He holds a Batchelor of Arts degree in Sociology/English from Capital University and a Masters degree in Public Administration from Ohio State University. He is also a graduate of the 160th session of the F.B.I. National Academy (1990), and the Ohio Certified Law Enforcement Executive Program (C.L.E.E).

 

Chief McCoy has over 20 CALEA assessments as an assessor, including 18 as a Team Leader. At the Detroit CALEA Conference, Wayne scored 100% on the assessor certification test.

 

Wayne has always been active in law enforcement support and community groups.

He was a Lead Consultant for the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police from 1989 to 2002, handling promotional processes and departmental reviews. 

 

Wayne and his wife, Sherry, have been married 22 years and have four children. In his spare time he enjoys sports, jogging, and stock market analysis.
