Your Commissioner- Patrick Oliver
Chief Oliver has taught law enforcement and business courses at Cuyahoga Community and Ohio Dominican Colleges. He serves as a consultant and trainer with the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives, and was recently elected President of the Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police. He was appointed a CALEA Commissioner in 1999 and serves on the Executive Committee as the Commission Treasurer.
Patrick and his wife Kimberly enjoy their three-year-old daughter Brittney. He is an avid reader, likes to travel, is a fair golfer, and closely follows major professional sports teams. The Olivers are strongly committed followers of Jesus Christ. As a Christian, Chief Oliver believes that being a police chief is a ministry in which you serve the Lord through serving others. Additionally he believes the goal of all law enforcement chief executives is to institutionalize positive change, which results in leaving the profession and the community better than you found it. The motto he established for his police agency is “service with integrity.”
