Recognition Update 


The Commission decided to add standard 12.2.1, Agency Written Directive System, to the list of “core” standards for the Recognition Program.  The decision to include this standard was in response to the observation of practitioners and the recommendation of CALEA staff, as the standard met the criteria for “core” standards established by the State Accreditation Task Force Committee.  This standard is an essential requirement for any agency seeking to be recognized by CALEA.  The total number of Recognition standards is now 97. 

In addition, the Redmond (OR) Police Department was presented and acknowledged at the awards banquet in Jacksonville, Florida, as the first agency to complete Recognition through the CALEA Alliance Program.
