Working with You
Peg GiglioPeg Giglio joined the CALEA family in April of 1999 as a Program Assistant, supporting Program Managers, Ted Lemay and Peg Gant in all aspects of agency on-site assessment preparation in addition to daily routines. She brings great strengths in organization and customer service, as well as writing and editing; serving as assistant editor of the Update Newsletter. Peg is a native of New Yorker City, but moved to Buffalo in western New York as a young child where she grew up, attended school and started college. However, college was interrupted when her sister, whose husband was stationed in Hawaii, invited Peg to come for a visit. She was the guest who came to dinner and stayed two years. Peg returned to Buffalo where she taught school for three years. She resigned when she met and married her husband and moved to Connecticut. Peg’s husband started graduate school, which meant a move back to Buffalo. To help supplement their income, Peg started working part-time at Sears and one year later was asked to become a full-time manager and buyer in women’s apparel. She was the manager of various other departments throughout her years with Sears. Peg made a decision to spend more nights and weekends with her growing family. To do that, she had to leave management and so took a position as executive assistant to the store manager, a position she held for five years. Due to downsizing, and not wanting to return to sales, she retired from Sears in the mid nineties. Peg now had the time to return to school to complete her interrupted education, and graduated from Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York. Peg has three children, Chris, a pilot with United Airlines based out of Dulles airport, Andy, a supervisor in a finish carpentry firm in South Carolina, and Alicia, who works as an administrative assistant in an Amherst, New York architectural firm. Peg enjoys reading, gardening, traveling, and day tripping. But, most of all, she enjoys spending time with her two grandsons, Jack and Shane.
