November 2001 Conference in San Diego
San Diego is known for its sun, surf, and sand, but this beautiful and historic site with its diverse culture has something for everyone. Old Town San Diego recreates life in early Mexico, and California during the mid 1800’s. La Casa de Estudillo mansion offers a glimpse into California’s past, and the Bazaar del Mundo’s array of colorful shops with handcrafted folk art, restaurants, mariachis and folklorico dancers make Old Town a must. San Diego’s museums ranging from the eclectic to the sublime are filled with wonders that appeal to just about any taste. Many are clustered in Balboa Park located about four miles from the Town and Country Resort, the conference hotel. In addition to Balboa Park, Sea World of California, the San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, LEGOLAND, the Palomar Observatory and the beaches make this the perfect conference city to bring the family. Our host, the San Diego (CA) Police Department, will be on hand to direct you to the restaurants, shopping, entertainment and sites this beautiful southern California city has to offer.
