Conference Attendees Save a Life

Three CALEA conference attendees came to the aid of a person attending another convention at the CALEA conference hotel in St. Louis.  An older man suffered an apparent heart attack and stopped breathing.  Lt. John Gustin of the Naperville (IL) Police Department, Lt. Mike Rogers of the West Orange (NJ) Police Department, and Sgt. Steve Larson of the Oakbrook (IL) Police Department responded with CPR.  They were able to revive the victim who was taken by EMS to the hospital.  EMS officials credit the officers for saving the victim’s life.  Several days later, the victim was reported to be in fair condition at a local hospital.
