Communications Corner Two more communications agencies, The Rock County (WI) 911 Communications Center and the Rhode Island E-911 Uniform Emergency Telephone System had successful on-sites in April and will be reviewed by the Commission for accreditation in Schaumburg, IL. These agencies represent the second and third communications agencies to complete the Public Safety Communications Accreditation Program that was introduced a year ago. The program was developed as a joint effort between The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials-International (APCO) and CALEA and contains 214 standards. The Communications Accreditation version of "Agency Self-assessment Automated Program," in a 32 bit Windows® format is operational and is available from CALEA. |
