The end of the century coincided with the end of Commissioner Beverly Harvard’s nine-year commitment to CALEA. Chief Harvard, Atlanta's Police Chief since 1993, leaves CALEA with the distinction of having hosted the Commission's 20^th Anniversary November meeting, the largest in CALEA’s history, with over 1,000 attendees. Chief Harvard holds a Masters Degree in Urban Government, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and is the first African-American woman to head a major city police department. CALEA wishes Chief Harvard continued success and thanks her for her service.
