New Commissioners
Knoxville (TN) Police Chief Phil E. Keith officially assumed his CALEA Commissioner duties in Atlanta after replacing Assistant Chief Terry Gainer of the Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department. Chief Keith has a Masters Degree from the University of Tennessee and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy. The 514-member Knoxville Police Department was accredited in 1992 and has received national awards for crime prevention and highway safety.
Sheriff Stanley Glanz from Tulsa County (OK) became a CALEA Commissioner on January 1st replacing retiring Commissioner, Chief Beverly Harvard, Chief of Police of Atlanta (GA). Sheriff Glanz holds a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Oklahoma City University and is a graduate of both the FBI National Academy and the Southwestern Police Academy. He also serves on the Board of Directors for both the Oklahoma and National Sheriffs' Associations. The Tulsa County Sheriffs Office was accredited at CALEAs Tulsa meeting in 1997. |
