Maya was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 1993 she moved to Charlotte to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where she received a Bachelors of Arts in English and Communications. After graduation she worked at a local television station as a studio operator. In March, 2000 she joined the CALEA Staff as a Program Assistant. Maya has experience working with program managers, assisting client agencies, organizing agency assessments, and various other administrative tasks. She is also a member of the Flagship Agency Program Committee. After being employed by the Commission for nearly seven years, she assumed the position of program manager on December 1, 2006. Maya is the liaison for all agencies previously managed by Ted LeMay. Her ideal fulfillment is spending time with her husband, and children.
