Hartford, Connecticut, Friday, March 26, 1999: City Manager Saundra Kee Borges has Confirmed appointment of Jim Wright of Wright and Associates, a Maryland based Management, development and training firm located in Mitchellville, Maryland, as the new Deputy City Manager for the City of Hartford. Mr. Wright will fill the vacancy created by the recent death of Deputy City Manager Henry Langley.
"Mr. Wright brings to the City of Hartford vast experience in municipal government Management," gated City Manager Borges. "Jim has already worked closely with city departments as a consultant to Public Strategies Group, the contractor overseeing the City of Hartfords management reinvention project. Having Jim on staff will not only enhance but expedite our efforts to improve our efficiency and accountability, and meet our objective of increasing public satisfaction with government services and operations."
A graduate of Johnson C. Smith University, and possessing Masters degrees from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and the University of North Carolina. Mr. Wright also has advanced training with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard, and over 15 years of experience as a practitioner in municipal government at the executive and senior management level. Mr. Wrights appointment is effective April 20th. He will make his home in Hartford.
