09/19/2007 EXEMPLARY PROGRAMS CALEA Accreditation is about excellence, and standards define and guide the process as well as hold up, for self-analysis and public examination, the measurements for performance and effectiveness. Accountability to self, to fellow officers, to colleagues, and to the community, are at the heart of all of the CALEA Accreditation Programs. Exemplary Programs is a unique collection of some of the best, most original programs that accredited agencies has developed.This is yet another compelling reason to become involved in accreditation and learn from other agencies that often go beyond the standards, on a daily basis. Even though Exemplary Programs is not part of the accreditation requirements, it has grown to a collection of more than 600 programs that showcase model approaches.
